VELUX EDP CK02 2000 Pro+ Standard Flashings W/ Installation Products 55x78cm

Suitable applications and roof types

This flashing kit is specifically designed for plain tile roofs where tile thickness does not exceed 14mm. It is compatible with VELUX roof window installations and Sun Tunnel systems at the stated 550×780mm aperture size. The kit works equally well in new build projects and refurbishment applications, making it versatile for both renovation and construction work. Ensure your roof tiles fall within the 14mm thickness specification before ordering, as oversized tiles will require a different flashing profile.

  • Plain tile roofs only, up to 14mm tile thickness
  • Compatible with VELUX roof windows and Sun Tunnel systems
  • Suitable for new build and refurbishment projects
  • Aperture size: 550×780mm
  • Verify tile thickness on site before installation

Installation overview and included components

The kit contains all components needed for a complete installation: the standard plain tile flashing and both BDX and BFX installation products. These components work together to create a weather-tight integration between the roof window frame and the surrounding roof structure. The BDX and BFX products are specifically engineered to seal and secure the flashing to your roof, eliminating the need to source additional sealing or fixing products separately. Follow VELUX installation instructions carefully to ensure proper assembly and weather-tightness.

  • Complete kit includes flashing, BDX and BFX installation products
  • No additional sealing products required
  • Designed for weather-tight integration
  • Refer to VELUX installation documentation for step-by-step guidance
  • Ensure all components are present before starting work

On-site preparation and weather protection

Before installation, inspect the roof opening to confirm it matches the 550×780mm flashing dimensions and that surrounding tiles are in good condition. Work should be carried out in dry conditions to ensure proper sealing and adhesion of the BDX and BFX products. Protect the roof opening with temporary weatherproofing if installation cannot be completed in a single working day. Once the flashing is installed and sealed, the weather-tight seal will protect the interior from rain penetration and condensation ingress, supporting long-term performance of the roof window system.

  • Verify roof opening dimensions match 550×780mm specification
  • Check surrounding tiles for damage or deterioration
  • Install in dry weather conditions for best results
  • Protect the opening if work spans multiple days
  • Allow adequate time for BDX and BFX products to cure fully

Maintenance and long-term care

Once installed, the flashing requires minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the seal around the flashing perimeter to ensure it remains intact and free from cracks or gaps. Clear any debris, moss or lichen from the flashing surface and surrounding tiles to maintain water drainage and prevent moisture retention. In areas with heavy rainfall or exposure, check the seal more frequently. The weather-tight design will continue to perform reliably if kept clean and undamaged, protecting both the roof window and the building interior from water ingress.

  • Inspect the flashing seal annually, especially after severe weather
  • Clear debris and moss from the flashing and surrounding tiles
  • Check for cracks or gaps in the seal
  • Ensure water drains freely around the flashing
  • Replace the flashing if the seal is damaged or deteriorated
