How and where to use guide
32 X 115MM S/W DOOR LINING SET WITH STOPS 2'6"/2'9"
Typical applications
These door lining sets are commonly used for internal partition walls, bedroom doors, bathroom doors, and general circulation spaces in new build and refurbishment projects. The integrated stops eliminate the need for separate stop installation, reducing labour time and ensuring uniform door swing clearance. They work well in plasterboard stud partitions and masonry openings where standard metric heights apply.
- Internal domestic doorways in new build and renovation
- Bedroom, bathroom, and utility room doors
- Light commercial office and retail interiors
- Plasterboard stud partition and masonry openings
Installation and fitting
Before installation, check that the rough opening is plumb, level, and square to within 5mm over the height. Offer up the lining set and pack out using timber shims behind the jambs to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment. Secure through the jambs into the surrounding structure using nails or screws at 600mm centres, checking plumb and level frequently. Once fixed, the stops are ready to receive hinges and door hardware. Allow adequate clearance between the door and stops to prevent binding, typically 2-3mm.
- Check rough opening is plumb, level, and square before fitting
- Pack out behind jambs with timber shims for true alignment
- Secure jambs at 600mm centres into surrounding structure
- Verify stops are clear of obstruction before hanging door
Finishing and maintenance
Softwood linings accept paint, stain, and varnish finishes readily. Prime all surfaces before decoration to prevent moisture ingress and ensure uniform colour. On-site, protect the lining from water splash and site dust during construction. After installation, check that stops remain tight against the frame and that no gaps have opened at joints. Minor gaps can be filled with flexible decorator's caulk before final decoration.
- Prime all surfaces before painting or staining
- Protect from water and dust during construction phase
- Check stops are tight and joints are closed before decoration
- Use flexible caulk to seal minor gaps at joints
Limitations and considerations
These linings are designed for internal use only and are not suitable for external or high-moisture environments such as kitchens or wet rooms without additional protection. The 32mm thickness is standard for internal partitions but may require packing out if the wall thickness differs significantly. Softwood is susceptible to damage during handling and on-site storage; store flat and protect from weather. The pre-assembled stops cannot be repositioned, so verify door swing direction before installation.
- Internal use only; not suitable for external or wet areas
- Store flat and protect from weather and site damage
- Confirm door swing direction before fixing
- May require packing if wall thickness varies from standard
