Siniat Moisture Plasterboard 2400mm x 1200mm x 12.5mm TE (60)
Who should buy this product
This plasterboard is for builders, contractors and serious DIY installers working on wet rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and utility spaces. It is not a substitute for standard plasterboard in dry areas, but is mandatory in moisture-prone locations where building regulations and best practice require Type H2 specification. If you are renovating or building a bathroom, kitchen or laundry room, this is the correct choice.
- Professional builders and contractors installing wet areas
- DIY customers upgrading bathrooms and kitchens
- Projects requiring EN 520 Type H2 compliance
- Replacement of damaged moisture board in existing installations
Sizing and pack contents
Each sheet measures 2400mm long by 1200mm wide by 12.5mm thick. This is the standard plasterboard format, compatible with typical stud spacing and ceiling joists. The 12.5mm thickness is suitable for general partition walls and ceilings. A single sheet covers 2.88 square metres. The pack quantity of 60 sheets provides 172.8 square metres of coverage, making it ideal for larger projects or merchant stock.
- Single sheet area: 2.88 m²
- Pack of 60 sheets: 172.8 m² total coverage
- Standard 2400 x 1200mm format fits typical stud and joist spacing
- 12.5mm thickness for walls and ceilings
Compatibility and installation
This moisture board is installed using the same methods and fixings as standard plasterboard. It is compatible with standard metal and timber stud work, and with typical ceiling joists. Use standard plasterboard fixings, joint compound and tape. The moisture-resistant properties are built into the board itself, so no additional waterproofing membrane is required behind the plasterboard in normal bathroom and kitchen applications. However, always follow current Building Regulations and your architect or surveyor's specifications for your specific project.
- Compatible with standard timber and metal stud framing
- Use standard plasterboard fixings and joint compounds
- No additional waterproofing membrane needed in typical wet room applications
- Complies with EN 520 Type H2 classification
Pre-installation checks
Before ordering, confirm the total area you need to cover and calculate the number of sheets required. Check that your stud spacing and ceiling joist centres are standard (typically 400mm or 600mm centres) to ensure efficient use of the 2400 x 1200mm sheet format. Verify that your project specification calls for Type H2 moisture-resistant plasterboard, particularly if you are working to Building Regulations. Ensure you have adequate storage space that is dry and well-ventilated, as plasterboard must be stored flat and kept dry before installation. Confirm that fixings, joint compound, tape and finishing materials are also suitable for moisture-resistant applications if required by your specification.
- Calculate total area and number of sheets needed
- Confirm stud and joist spacing is standard gauge
- Check project specification requires Type H2 classification
- Arrange dry, flat storage before delivery
- Source compatible fixings and finishing materials in advance
