Rigid PIR Insulation 1200 x 2400 x 100mm

What this product is and who it is for

This is a rigid PIR foam insulation board for professional builders, contractors and experienced DIY customers undertaking insulation work. It is suitable for new build projects, refurbishment of existing structures, and retrofit insulation upgrades. The lightweight rigid board format reduces handling effort and installation time on site, making it practical for both small and larger scale applications.

Compatibility and applications

Ecotherm Rigid PIR boards are suitable for use in walls, floors and roofs. The moisture-resistant profile makes them appropriate for use in varied on-site conditions and damp environments. Check that your building design and insulation specification call for PIR foam and that the 100mm thickness meets your thermal and structural requirements for your particular application.

  • Suitable for cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation, floor insulation and roof insulation
  • Compatible with new build, refurbishment and retrofit projects
  • Moisture-resistant profile maintains performance in damp conditions

Sizing and pack contents

Each board measures 1200 x 2400 x 100mm. This single sheet size simplifies planning and reduces on-site cutting and waste. Calculate the total insulation area you need to cover and divide by the board area (2.88 square metres per board) to determine the number of boards required. Account for any offcuts or edge details in your design.

  • Single board dimensions: 1200 x 2400 x 100mm
  • Coverage per board: 2.88 square metres
  • Thickness: 100mm (check this meets your U-value and building regulation requirements)

Pre-installation checks

Before fixing, ensure the substrate surface is clean, dry and structurally sound. Verify that your installation method (adhesive, mechanical fixings or cavity tray systems) is appropriate for your application and complies with building regulations and the board manufacturer's guidance. Confirm that the 175 kPa compressive strength is adequate for any loads the insulation will bear in your specific location. Store boards flat and protected from weather on site until installation.

  • Check substrate is clean, dry and structurally sound
  • Confirm installation method suits your application (walls, floors or roofs)
  • Verify compressive strength of 175 kPa is sufficient for loads in your project
  • Store boards flat and protected from weather until ready to install
