Overview

West Fraser medium density fibreboard (MDF) offers a stable, uniform surface ideal for machining, routing, sanding and finishing in interior construction and joinery. This 2440mm × 1220mm × 25mm sheet is made from responsibly-sourced post-industrial recycled fibre, combining the purity and long-fibre characteristics of western white softwoods to deliver consistent workability across veneering, lamination and general build applications.

The 25mm thickness provides adequate rigidity for shelving, cabinetry and partition work whilst remaining easy to handle on site. MDF machines cleanly without tear-out, accepts a wide range of surface finishes—paint, stain, veneer or laminate—and requires no further treatment for most interior environments. Available in standard sheet format, it integrates seamlessly into both trade and serious DIY projects where dimensional stability and finish quality are priorities.

Description

West Fraser medium density fibreboard (MDF) is engineered from responsibly-sourced post-industrial recycled fibre combined with the purity and long-fibre characteristics of western white softwoods. The result is a stable, uniform composite board that machines, routes, sands and cuts cleanly without tear-out, making it the preferred choice for precision joinery, cabinetry and interior fit-out work. The 25mm thickness strikes a balance between structural rigidity and ease of handling, suitable for shelving, partition panels, built-in furniture and decorative applications where a quality finish is required.

This sheet size (2440 × 1220mm) is the industry standard for UK builders and makers, minimising waste and simplifying logistics on site. MDF accepts paint, stain, veneer and laminate finishes without additional preparation, and its dimensional stability ensures joints and edges remain true over time in interior environments. Ideal for both trade installation and serious DIY projects, it is supplied as a solid, ready-to-use sheet requiring no further treatment before machining or finishing.
