Hardwood Plywood 2440 x 1220 x 3.6mm B/BB Face Class 2 also known as WBP
What this product is and who needs it
This is a structural hardwood plywood panel with a premium face veneer and stable engineered core. It is intended for trade joiners, cabinet makers, and serious DIY builders constructing fitted furniture, kitchen units, shelving systems, and internal architectural joinery. The smooth finish face is ready for painting, staining, or veneering without additional surface preparation. The WBP adhesive specification means it can tolerate moisture exposure in kitchens and bathrooms without delamination.
- High-grade B/BB face veneer for visible surfaces
- Eucalyptus core for superior stability and warp resistance
- WBP adhesive for moisture and boil-proof durability
- Suitable for painting, staining, or veneering
- Ideal for cabinet carcasses, shelving, and furniture frames
Size, pack contents, and compatibility
Each sheet measures 2440mm long by 1220mm wide by 3.6mm thick. This is a single sheet supply. The 3.6mm thickness is suitable for cabinet sides, shelving, and internal panels where moderate load-bearing is required; it is not suitable for flooring or structural decking. The sheet size is standard European format, compatible with most workshop machinery including panel saws, table saws, and edge-banding equipment. Check your storage space and transport capacity before ordering, as full sheets are rigid and require flat, dry storage.
- Single sheet: 2440 x 1220 x 3.6mm
- Standard European size for workshop cutting
- Thickness suitable for cabinetry and internal joinery only
- Requires flat, dry storage to prevent cupping
Pre-purchase checks and preparation
Confirm your project requires internal-use plywood; this product is not rated for external weather exposure. Verify the 3.6mm thickness is adequate for your span and load—thicker panels may be needed for wide shelving or heavy-duty applications. Inspect the sheet upon delivery for transport damage, particularly edge crushing or face veneer splits. Store flat on a level surface in a dry, temperature-stable environment for at least 48 hours before cutting and assembly to allow the panel to acclimate and stabilise. Ensure your workshop has adequate space and handling equipment; a full sheet is unwieldy and requires two people or mechanical assistance to move safely.
- Confirm internal-use application only
- Check 3.6mm thickness suits your design loads and spans
- Inspect for transport damage on arrival
- Allow 48 hours acclimation in dry storage before use
- Arrange safe handling and transport within your workshop
Fixing and assembly guidance
Cut and machine the sheet using standard woodworking tools; the Eucalyptus core machines cleanly and the face veneer resists chipping if sharp blades are used. Edge-band exposed edges with matching hardwood or iron-on edging to seal the core and improve appearance. Assemble cabinet carcasses using pocket-hole joinery, dowels, or traditional mortise and tenon joints; the panel stability means minimal movement after assembly. Use moisture-resistant PVA or polyurethane adhesives for joints. Screw fixings should be countersunk and plugged if visible. Allow adhesives to cure fully (typically 24 hours) before loading shelves or hanging doors.
- Use sharp blades to minimise veneer chipping
- Edge-band all exposed edges to seal the core
- Assemble with pocket holes, dowels, or traditional joinery
- Use moisture-resistant adhesives
- Allow full adhesive cure before loading or hanging
