How and where to use guide

Hardwood Plywood 2440 x 1220 x 9mm B/BB Premium Streply EN314-2 CI2 & EN636-2S, E1 Class 2 also known as WBP

Typical Applications

This plywood is designed for internal fit-out projects where appearance and structural integrity are both priorities. It performs particularly well in built-in cabinetry, kitchen and bedroom furniture carcasses, shelving units, and bespoke joinery where the finished face will be visible.

  • Cabinet and furniture carcass construction
  • Built-in shelving and storage systems
  • Internal joinery and fitted furniture
  • Backing panels for veneering or painting
  • Partition and dividing wall panels

Stability and Finish Advantages

The Eucalyptus core actively resists twisting and warping, which is critical for cabinetry and shelving that must remain square and true over time. The high-grade B/BB face veneer provides a smooth, consistent surface that accepts paint, stain, or decorative veneers without additional preparation, saving time on site and reducing finishing costs.

  • Eucalyptus core minimises movement and warping
  • Smooth face veneer ready for direct painting or veneering
  • Consistent finish quality across the sheet
  • Reduces need for additional surface preparation

Storage, Handling, and On-Site Tips

Store sheets flat and horizontal on a level, dry surface, never stood on edge. Keep plywood indoors or under cover at all times; exposure to rain or prolonged damp will compromise the panel and void performance guarantees. Handle carefully to avoid damage to the face veneer. When cutting, use a fine-toothed saw blade and support the sheet properly to prevent breakout. Allow the material to acclimatise to the workshop environment for 24 to 48 hours before final fitting to minimise movement after installation.

  • Store flat and horizontal in a dry, protected location
  • Never expose to external weather or standing water
  • Use fine-toothed blades when cutting to protect the face
  • Allow acclimatisation time before final assembly
  • Support sheets fully during handling to prevent veneer damage

Limitations and Suitability

This plywood is classified for internal use only and is not suitable for external applications, wet areas, or high-moisture environments such as bathrooms or kitchens where water splash is frequent. The 9mm thickness is ideal for cabinet panels and shelving but should be supported adequately; for longer unsupported spans, thicker grades or additional bracing may be required. Always check load requirements for shelving applications and provide appropriate support.

  • Internal use only; not suitable for external exposure
  • Not recommended for wet areas or high-moisture environments
  • 9mm thickness requires adequate support for shelving spans
  • Check load-bearing requirements for your specific application
  • Maintain dry conditions throughout storage and installation
