What this product is and who it is for

This is a primed MDF profile with a moisture resistant coating, supplied as a single continuous length. It is suitable for builders, carpenters, furniture makers, and experienced DIY customers undertaking interior projects that require a stable, splinter-free surface. The square profile and substantial 70mm width make it suitable for edge banding, trim work, shelving supports, furniture frames, and decorative internal applications.

Sizing and pack contents

You receive one length of 5.49 metres. The profile measures 18mm thick and 70mm wide, giving you a robust square-edged component. Measure your project carefully before ordering, as this is supplied as a single length. If you need multiple pieces or shorter sections, order accordingly or plan to cut and joint lengths together.

Compatibility and environment

This product is treated with a moisture resistant coating and is suitable for dry interior environments only. Do not use in bathrooms, kitchens, external locations, or any area subject to persistent dampness or water exposure. The moisture resistant treatment provides protection against normal indoor humidity but is not a substitute for proper ventilation or waterproofing in wet areas. Ensure the installation location is well-ventilated and remains dry.

Pre-installation checks and preparation

Before fixing, inspect the length for damage and check that your installation location is dry and well-ventilated. Measure twice to confirm the 5.49m length suits your project, accounting for any joints or waste. The primed finish is ready to use, but you may sand lightly if needed before final decoration. Ensure fixings are appropriate for MDF—use screws or nails rated for board materials, and pre-drill where necessary to avoid splitting. Allow the product to acclimatise to the room environment for 24 hours before installation if it has been stored in a significantly different temperature or humidity.
