How and where to use guide

Magply 2400 x 1200 12mm

Typical applications

Magply 12mm is specified for construction where fire resistance is a critical requirement. Use this board in fire-rated wall systems, roof assemblies and flooring installations where building regulations demand non-combustible materials. It is suitable for both residential and commercial projects, including those subject to enhanced fire safety compliance requirements.

  • Fire-rated wall linings and partition systems
  • Roof assemblies in fire-sensitive locations
  • Flooring systems requiring fire performance certification
  • Commercial and residential construction with fire safety regulations

Installation and handling

The 2400 x 1200mm sheet format allows efficient coverage with minimal cutting and waste. Handle boards carefully on site to avoid damage that could compromise fire performance. Ensure boards are stored flat and protected from weather exposure prior to installation. Follow your structural engineer's or architect's specifications for fixing methods, spacing and support requirements, as these will be designed to maintain the fire-rated integrity of the system.

  • Store flat in a dry location away from weather exposure
  • Handle carefully to prevent edge or surface damage
  • Follow project specifications for fixing, spacing and support details
  • Ensure proper ventilation during and after installation

Fire safety compliance

This board holds Euroclass A1 non-combustible certification, meeting the highest fire safety standards required by building regulations. The A1 classification means the material will not contribute to fire spread or smoke development. Always verify that your complete system design—including fixings, joints and adjacent materials—is approved for your specific fire-rated application, as individual components must work together to achieve the required performance.

  • Euroclass A1 non-combustible rating for highest fire safety standards
  • Suitable for projects with strict fire compliance requirements
  • Verify complete system design with your structural engineer or architect
  • Keep certification documentation on site for building control inspection

On-site tips and limitations

The 12mm thickness provides structural integrity for typical wall, roof and flooring applications, but always check project specifications for load requirements and support spacing. Magply is a premium sheet material and should be protected from site damage and weather during storage and installation. Do not use this board in applications where it will be exposed to direct weather without appropriate protective cladding or roofing. Cutting or drilling should be done cleanly to maintain edge integrity.

  • Confirm thickness and support spacing meet your project design requirements
  • Protect from weather and site damage during storage and installation
  • Not suitable for direct external exposure without protective cladding
  • Cut cleanly using appropriate tools to maintain board integrity
