Siniat DB Sound Plasterboard 2400mm x 1200mm x 12.5mm TE (60)

What this product is for

Siniat dB Sound Plasterboard is engineered specifically for acoustic performance. It is used in stud partition systems, internal wall linings and ceiling installations where noise reduction between rooms is required. Common applications include office partitions, residential party walls, music rooms and commercial spaces where sound control is important. The plasterboard works by absorbing and dampening sound vibrations, making it more effective than standard plasterboard for acoustic purposes.

  • Stud partition walls requiring acoustic performance
  • Internal wall linings in residential and commercial buildings
  • Suspended ceiling systems
  • Rooms requiring noise reduction between spaces

Sizing and pack contents

Each sheet measures 2400mm length by 1200mm width by 12.5mm thickness. The pack quantity is 60 sheets. Calculate your coverage by multiplying sheet dimensions: each sheet covers 2.88 square metres. For a typical room, determine total wall and ceiling area in square metres, then divide by 2.88 to establish the number of sheets required. Always add 10 percent extra for waste, cuts and future repairs.

  • Sheet dimensions: 2400mm x 1200mm x 12.5mm
  • Coverage per sheet: 2.88 square metres
  • Pack contains 60 sheets
  • Total pack coverage: 172.8 square metres

Compatibility and installation

This plasterboard is classified as Type DI to EN 520, confirming it meets British and European standards for acoustic plasterboard. It is compatible with standard timber stud partitions, metal stud systems and suspended ceiling frameworks. The 12.5mm thickness is suitable for single-layer applications on ceilings and can be used as part of multi-layer systems on walls for enhanced acoustic performance. Ensure your supporting structure (studs or joists) is spaced at 400mm or 600mm centres for proper support.

  • Type DI classification to EN 520 standard
  • Compatible with timber and metal stud systems
  • Suitable for single or multi-layer installations
  • Requires stud or joist spacing of 400mm or 600mm centres

Pre-installation checks

Before fixing, inspect all sheets for damage and ensure your supporting framework is level, square and properly braced. Check that studs or joists are at the correct spacing and that any services (electrical, plumbing) are positioned and protected appropriately. Store plasterboard flat and dry on site, protected from weather and moisture. Ensure you have suitable fixings (plasterboard screws or nails), joint compound, tape and finishing materials ready. Have adequate workspace for handling large sheets safely.

  • Inspect sheets for damage before installation
  • Verify framework is level, square and properly spaced
  • Protect services and plan their routing
  • Store sheets flat and dry on site
  • Gather fixings, joint tape and finishing materials in advance
