Primed White FD30 Fire Rated Softwood Door Lining with Loose Stop 2100 x 125 x 32mm

What this product is and who needs it

A door lining is the frame that sits within your wall opening and supports the door leaf. This FD30 fire-rated version is essential for any internal doorway where fire safety regulations apply, including care homes, offices, hotels, and modern residential builds. The FD30 rating means the assembly will resist fire for 30 minutes when fitted with an approved fire-rated door and intumescent strips. The pre-primed white finish saves decoration time on site.

Sizing and compatibility

This lining measures 2100mm in height, 125mm in width, and 32mm in thickness. The 2100mm height suits standard internal doorways in residential and commercial properties. The 125mm width accommodates typical stud wall thicknesses (usually 100mm studs plus plasterboard). Check your wall opening dimensions before ordering to ensure the lining will fit correctly. The loose stop means you can adjust the frame position during installation to suit your specific wall thickness and plasterboard finish.

  • Height: 2100mm — standard for internal doors
  • Width: 125mm — fits typical stud walls with plasterboard
  • Thickness: 32mm — solid softwood construction
  • Loose stop allows on-site adjustment for wall variations

Fire rating and intumescent strips

The lining is routered (grooved) to accept intumescent strips, which are essential for achieving the FD30 fire rating. These strips expand when exposed to heat, sealing gaps around the door and preventing smoke and flame spread. You must purchase intumescent strips separately and fit them into the routed channels before hanging your fire-rated door. Without strips properly installed, the fire rating will not be valid. Ensure any door you hang in this lining is also FD30 certified.

Pre-installation checks and preparation

Before fixing, inspect the lining for damage and confirm your wall opening matches the 2100mm height and 125mm width. The primed finish is ready to use but can be sanded lightly if needed before final decoration. Ensure the wall is plumb and square, and that you have appropriate fixings for your wall type (timber studs, brick, or block). Plan the position of the loose stop to suit your wall thickness, and have intumescent strips to hand before installation begins. Check that your fire-rated door is compatible with FD30 linings and will fit the opening once the lining is fixed.
