How and where to use guide

Primed White FD30 Fire Rated Softwood Door Lining with Loose Stop 2100 x 125 x 32mm

Typical applications

Use this door lining in any internal doorway requiring FD30 fire rating compliance. Common applications include escape routes, stairwells, communal areas in flats, plant rooms, and compartmentation walls in commercial buildings. The lining works with matching FD30-rated fire doors to create a complete fire-resistant assembly. It is suitable for both new construction and renovation projects where upgrading fire safety is necessary.

  • Internal doorways in buildings subject to Building Regulations fire safety requirements
  • Escape routes and protected stairwells
  • Compartmentation walls in commercial and residential properties
  • Refurbishment projects upgrading to current fire safety standards

Installation and preparation

The lining arrives pre-primed in white, reducing on-site preparation time. The loose stop allows you to adjust the door stop position during installation to accommodate door thickness variation and ensure proper sealing. The routered channels are pre-cut to receive intumescent strips, which expand when exposed to heat and seal gaps around the door leaf to prevent smoke and flame passage. Install the lining plumb and level within the wall opening, securing it with appropriate fixings. Ensure the intumescent strips are correctly fitted into the routered channels before hanging the fire door.

  • Check the opening is square, plumb and level before installation
  • Secure the lining frame firmly to the building structure
  • Position the loose stop to suit your door thickness and fit intumescent strips into routered channels
  • Ensure all gaps between frame and wall are properly sealed with fire-rated materials
  • Do not paint over or obstruct the intumescent strip channels

Dimensions and compatibility

This lining measures 2100mm height by 125mm width by 32mm depth. The 125mm width suits standard stud wall construction. The 2100mm height accommodates most standard internal doorways. Verify your opening dimensions match these specifications before ordering. The lining is designed to work with FD30-rated fire doors of corresponding size and must be used as part of a complete fire-rated door assembly to achieve the required fire rating.

  • Height: 2100mm — suitable for standard internal doorways
  • Width: 125mm — fits typical stud wall construction
  • Depth: 32mm — standard lining thickness
  • Confirm your opening dimensions before purchase

Maintenance and limitations

The white primed finish provides a clean appearance and is ready for final decoration. Inspect the lining regularly to ensure intumescent strips remain in place and undamaged. Do not remove, compress, or obstruct the intumescent strips as they are essential to fire performance. The lining is softwood and must be protected from prolonged moisture exposure on site. This product is for internal use only and must be paired with an FD30-rated fire door to achieve fire rating compliance. It cannot be used with standard doors or in external applications.

  • Protect from moisture and weather during storage and installation
  • Inspect intumescent strips regularly for damage or displacement
  • Use only with FD30-rated fire doors to maintain fire rating
  • Internal use only — not suitable for external doorways
  • Final decoration can be applied over the primed surface as required
