Fixing and buying guide

LPD White DX 30S Style 1981 x 610 x 35mm (24")

What you're buying

This is a complete internal door leaf measuring 1981 x 610 x 35mm (24 inches wide). It features a solid engineered core construction rather than a hollow core, providing enhanced rigidity and sound insulation. The door is supplied primed in white, meaning it has received a base coat and is ready for decoration with your choice of final paint or stain finish. The 30s style design includes one large square panel with three smaller rectangular panels below, creating a classic period look.

  • Solid engineered core for strength and durability
  • Primed white finish, ready for top coat
  • 1981mm height x 610mm width x 35mm thickness
  • Manufactured from environmentally friendly timber
  • Internal use only

Compatibility and sizing

This door is designed for standard internal openings and is 610mm (24 inches) wide, making it suitable for typical bedroom, bathroom, and living space doorways. The 1981mm height accommodates standard UK ceiling heights. Because this door can be trimmed on site, you have flexibility to adjust the width and height slightly to fit your specific opening, provided you do not reduce it below safe working dimensions. Always measure your opening carefully before purchase and account for frame thickness and hinges.

  • Standard 24-inch internal door width
  • Suitable for typical UK residential ceiling heights
  • Can be trimmed to fit your opening
  • Requires standard internal door frame and hinges

Preparation and installation

The door arrives primed and ready to decorate. Before hanging, inspect the door for any damage in transit and allow it to acclimatise to your room for 48 hours. You will need to fit hinges, a latch mechanism, and handle separately. If trimming is required, use a fine-toothed saw and sand the cut edges smooth before priming any exposed timber. Apply your chosen top coat (paint, stain, or varnish) to all surfaces, including edges, to protect the engineered core from moisture.

  • Allow 48 hours acclimatisation before hanging
  • Hinges, latch, and handle sold separately
  • Trim with fine-toothed saw if needed; sand and prime cut edges
  • Apply final coat to all surfaces including edges for protection

Pre-installation checks

Measure your doorway opening height and width accurately, accounting for the frame and any adjustments needed. Check that your opening is square using a spirit level and measure diagonals to confirm. Ensure the wall and frame are in good condition and level before installation. Verify that you have all necessary hardware (hinges, latch, handle, and fixings) before beginning work. The solid core construction is heavier than hollow-core doors, so ensure adequate support during installation.

  • Measure opening height, width, and check for square
  • Confirm frame is level and in good condition
  • Gather all hardware before starting installation
  • Account for door weight during handling and fitting
