How and where to use guide

LPD White DX 30S Style 1981 x 762 x 35mm (30")

Typical applications and installation

This internal door is designed for use within buildings where a period-style aesthetic is desired. The 30-inch width makes it suitable for standard bedroom, bathroom, and living space doorways. Before installation, check your opening dimensions carefully. The door can be trimmed to fit, but ensure you do not reduce the width below the minimum required for your hardware. Hang the door using three hinges for stability, and fit your chosen latch and handle hardware. The solid engineered core ensures the door will not warp or twist during normal use, making it reliable for high-traffic areas.

  • Suitable for internal use only; do not expose to external weather
  • Standard 30-inch width fits most domestic doorway openings
  • Can be trimmed on site to adjust height and width as needed
  • Requires three hinges for proper support and operation
  • Install with appropriate latch, handle, and door furniture

Finishing and decoration

The door arrives primed and ready for your final top coat. The primed surface provides a stable base for paint or stain application. Before painting, lightly sand the primed surface to ensure good adhesion of your chosen finish. Apply your selected interior paint, stain, or varnish according to the manufacturer's instructions. Two coats are typically recommended for even coverage and durability. Allow adequate drying time between coats. The solid core construction means the door will not absorb finish unevenly, resulting in a professional appearance.

  • Lightly sand primed surface before applying final coat
  • Use quality interior paint, stain, or varnish suitable for timber doors
  • Apply two coats for best coverage and durability
  • Allow proper drying time between coats as per paint manufacturer guidance
  • Primed finish protects the core during storage and installation

Maintenance and care

Once installed and finished, maintain the door through regular cleaning and prompt attention to any damage. Wipe the door surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid excessive moisture exposure, as this is an internal door not designed for damp environments. Check hinges and hardware periodically to ensure they remain tight and functioning smoothly. The solid engineered core resists warping and twisting, so the door should operate smoothly for many years with minimal maintenance. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.

  • Clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth
  • Keep away from prolonged moisture and damp conditions
  • Check hinges and hardware periodically for tightness
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals
  • Solid core construction minimises warping and maintenance needs

On-site handling and storage

Store the door in a dry, protected location before installation. Keep it flat or upright in a secure position to prevent damage to the panels and edges. Do not expose the door to rain, direct sunlight, or extreme temperature fluctuations during storage, as these can affect the primed finish and the timber core. When trimming the door on site, use sharp tools and take care to cut cleanly without splintering the edges. After trimming, seal any cut edges with primer or paint to protect the exposed timber. Handle the door carefully during installation to avoid denting or damaging the solid core.

  • Store flat or upright in a dry, protected location
  • Keep away from rain, direct sunlight, and temperature extremes
  • Use sharp tools when trimming to avoid splintering
  • Seal all cut edges with primer or paint after trimming
  • Handle carefully during installation to prevent damage
