PREMDOR 6 PANEL MOULDED SMOOTH STANDARD CORE 762MM X 1981MM X 35MM

Typical applications and installation

This moulded panel door is designed for internal doorways in domestic properties, flats, and light commercial spaces. The standard core construction and 35mm thickness make it suitable for typical internal partition walls. Installation follows conventional door hanging procedures: the door should be hung in a prepared frame using three hinges, with the frame properly plumbed and packed to ensure smooth operation. The 762mm width accommodates standard single doorway openings, whilst the 1981mm height suits typical floor-to-ceiling dimensions in UK properties. Ensure the frame is square and level before hanging to prevent binding or gaps.

  • Suitable for bedrooms, living areas, hallways and office spaces
  • Fits standard UK door frame openings without modification
  • Requires conventional three-hinge hanging arrangement
  • Internal use only - not suitable for external applications

On-site finishing and decoration

The white base coat provides a prepared surface ready for painting or staining on site. The smooth moulded faces accept paint readily, allowing site teams to match existing colour schemes or apply bespoke finishes. Before painting, inspect the door for any transport damage and allow it to acclimatise to site conditions for 48 hours. Sand lightly with fine-grit paper if required to ensure paint adhesion, then apply primer and finish coats according to your chosen paint system. The smooth surface finish minimises the need for extensive preparation, reducing labour time compared to solid timber alternatives.

  • White base coat requires standard primer and paint application
  • Smooth faces accept emulsion, eggshell or satin finishes
  • Light sanding recommended before painting for optimal adhesion
  • Allow 48-hour acclimatisation before decoration

Performance characteristics and maintenance

The standard core construction provides adequate rigidity for internal use and resists warping under normal domestic humidity conditions. The moulded panel design combines traditional appearance with practical performance, offering a high-quality aesthetic at an affordable price point. Maintenance is straightforward: wipe surfaces with a damp cloth for cleaning and touch up paint as required. The door should not be exposed to direct moisture or external weather conditions, as the core and base coat are not formulated for external durability. Check hinges periodically and adjust if the door begins to sag or bind.

  • Standard core suitable for stable internal environments
  • Not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens or high-moisture areas without additional sealing
  • Routine cleaning with damp cloth; avoid prolonged water contact
  • Check and adjust hinges annually to maintain smooth operation

Limitations and storage

This door is designed exclusively for internal applications and must not be used in external locations or areas subject to weather exposure. The moulded smooth finish, whilst attractive and practical, is not suitable for heavy-wear commercial environments or areas requiring fire-rated performance. Store the door flat or upright in a dry, protected location on site, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid leaning the door at angles during storage, as this may cause warping. The door should be handled carefully to prevent damage to the moulded panel edges during transport and installation.

  • Internal use only - not weather-resistant
  • Not suitable for fire-rated applications
  • Store flat or upright in dry conditions
  • Protect edges during handling and transport
