How and where to use guide
PREMDOR 6 PANEL MOULDED TEXTURED STANDARD CORE 610MM X 1981MM X 35MM
Typical applications and installation
This door is designed for internal use in domestic properties, flats, and light commercial buildings. It is suitable for standard doorways with frame widths of approximately 610mm and heights around 1981mm. Installation follows conventional methods: hang the door using three hinges (typically 100mm butt hinges for this weight and size) into a prepared timber or composite frame. Ensure the frame is square and plumb before hanging. The door can be fitted with standard mortice locks, latches, and handles. Check that the door swings freely with adequate clearance at the top and sides; plane edges if necessary to achieve a 2-3mm gap all round.
- Internal use only in domestic and light commercial settings
- Standard frame width approximately 610mm, height 1981mm
- Hang using three 100mm butt hinges minimum
- Suitable for mortice locks and standard ironmongery
- Allow 2-3mm clearance around the door perimeter
On-site finishing and painting
The white base coat provides an ideal primer surface for on-site decoration. The textured moulded faces accept paint well and help conceal minor surface imperfections. Sand lightly with fine abrasive paper (120-150 grit) to key the surface, then apply two coats of quality interior paint (emulsion, satin, or eggshell as preferred). The smooth faces are particularly suitable for painting and will produce a professional finish. Allow adequate drying time between coats and ensure good ventilation during application. If staining is preferred, strip or sand back the white base coat first to expose the timber substrate.
- Light sand with 120-150 grit paper before painting
- Apply two coats of quality interior paint
- Textured faces conceal minor imperfections
- Allow full drying time between coats
- Strip white base coat if staining is intended
Performance and limitations
The 35mm solid core provides good sound insulation and structural rigidity for an internal door of this type. The moulded panel construction offers traditional appearance with reliable performance at an affordable price point. This door is not suitable for external use, wet environments, or areas subject to high humidity such as bathrooms without adequate ventilation. The textured faces are durable but may require occasional light cleaning with a soft cloth. Do not expose to direct water spray or prolonged moisture.
- Internal use only; not suitable for external or wet areas
- 35mm solid core provides good acoustic performance
- Not recommended for unventilated bathrooms or kitchens
- Clean textured faces with soft cloth only
- Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or water spray
On-site handling and storage
Store the door flat or stood upright in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Protect from moisture and damp conditions during storage and transit. Handle carefully to avoid damage to the moulded panel faces. If the door must be stored vertically for extended periods, ensure it is properly supported to prevent warping. Keep the door in its protective packaging until ready for installation. Allow the door to acclimatise to the building environment for 24-48 hours before hanging if it has been stored in significantly different temperature or humidity conditions.
