On-site finishing and painting
The door arrives with a smooth white base coat that provides an excellent foundation for on-site decoration. The textured moulded panel faces are designed to accept paint, stain or other finishes. Before painting, inspect the surface for any dust or debris and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Allow to dry fully. Apply primer if changing colour significantly from the white base coat, then apply two coats of quality interior paint suitable for timber doors. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. The textured surface will enhance the visual depth of your chosen finish.

Fire safety and maintenance
The FD30 Fireshield rating is integral to the door construction and must be preserved through correct installation and maintenance. Keep the door and frame clean and free from obstructions. In the event of damage to the door surface, small marks can be touched up with matching paint, but structural damage or seal failure requires professional assessment before continued use. The self-closing mechanism should be tested periodically to ensure it functions smoothly.
